What is moon blindness?
Equine Recurrent Uveitis or Moon Blindness is a chronic, painful eye condition, and is the most common cause of blindness in horses.
Equine recurrent uveitis is characterized by inflammation inside the eye, first impacting the uveal tract (termed uveitis). The uveal tract consists of vascular tissues inside the eye essential to proper nourishment and function of the eye. It is one of the most common conditions of the equine eye.

I bought Serraquin as a last ditch effort to help alleviate the pain from equine recurrent uveitis for one of the brood mares. Not only was she battling her poor eyes, but she had also recently foundered and needed cloud boots 24/7.
We did the loading dose of Serraquin and within a week, I started to notice a difference. Not as “squinty”, more willing to hold her eyes open... Not only was she not limping she was RUNNING from me acting like a colt.
